Between the Covers Book Club discusses the book, "Shutter Island by Dennis Lahane at the library @ 2pm August 25th.  Feel free to Join us - Stop in pick up a copy of the book and/or visit with the Librarian about the program!  We welcome new members to the club & we'd love for you to join us.

"Shutter Island" is a psychological thriller novel by Dennis Lehane, published in April 2003, that follows U.S. Marshal Teddy Daniels as he investigates a mysterious disappearance at a mental institution.

Plot Summary

Set in 1954, the story revolves around U.S. Marshal Teddy Daniels and his partner Chuck Aule, who are sent to Shutter Island, home to Ashecliffe Hospital for the Criminally Insane. They are tasked with investigating the disappearance of a patient named Rachel Solando, a woman who drowned her three children and has seemingly escaped from a locked cell under constant surveillance. As a hurricane approaches, the investigation reveals dark secrets about the hospital and its patients, leading Teddy to question his own sanity and the true nature of his mission.
