A Sidewalk Replacement Program for residential properties is available. The purpose of this program is to promote the replacement of existing defective and unsafe sidewalks.

Owner-occupied properties located within City limits are eligible for the program. Property owners will need to complete an application for financial assistance of up to $3000 to replace defective sidewalks that parallel the street in front of their property. Once a complete application has been submitted, City staff will determine if the sidewalk meets the definition of "defective" according to City Code (Chapter 136) and determine your level of assistance.

The owner would require a permit and hire a contractor to replace the approved portion of sidewalk. When complete, City staff will inspect it for final approval.

Any grants awarded will be paid directly to the contractor who performed the work and the property owner will be responsible for the balance.

Applications can be picked up at City Hall or at to apply for financial assistance up to $3,000.
