The City of Hartley, Iowa/Hartley Municipal Utilities is seeking a Superintendent of Public Works to direct and manage the City’s Public Works Department. This administrative position is under general direction of the City Council providing administrative and technical work involved in planning and directing Public Works activities in areas of utilities (water, wastewater, electric, natural gas), street and building maintenance, public works projects, budgets, reports, parks and recreational facilities, cemetery, coordinating assigned activities with other City departments and outside agencies.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Preferably education and experience in public works administration but not required, experience with municipal utilities, budgeting, interpreting plans and blueprints, street and cemetery maintenance, effective oral and written communications, supervising and delegating duties to staff, maintaining effective working relationships, resolving customer issues, coordinating with other City Clerk/Administrator, Mayor, City Council and city departments. Must have good working knowledge of computers, including working with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, etc.) and Adobe.
