| Snow Removal |
No person shall park, abandon or leave unattended any vehicle on any public street, alley, or City-owned off-street parking area from the time it begins to snow until the snow has been removed or plowed from said street, alley or parking area and the snow has ceased to fall, unless otherwise postedVehicles shall be ticketed and/or towed away at owner’s expense. |
| Removal of Snow, Ice, and Accumulations |
It is the responsibility of the abutting property owners to remove snow, ice and accumulations promptly from sidewalks. If a property owner does not remove snow, ice or accumulations within a reasonable time, the City many do so and assess the costs against the property owner for collection in the same manner as a property tax.

| Notice to Snowmobilers |
According to Iowa “Code and Hartley City Code – Snowmobiles shall NOT be operated upon private property without the express consent of the property owner.
NO snowmobiles shall be operated upon the public sidewalks, nor shall they be operated upon that portion of the street located between the curb line and the sidewalk or property line commonly referred to as the “parking” except to cross the same to enter a public street.
Snowmobiles shall NOT be operated in any City Park, Playground, or upon any other publicly owned property.
Snowmobiles MAY be operated upon streets which have not been plowed.
Snowmobiles may be operated on any street within the City EXCEPT Central Avenue, from Maple Drive to Second Street. |
